FAQs
Why is third-party testing important for consumers?
It is important that consumers have the confidence that Pacific Formulations products have been third-party verified by accredited laboratories rather than in-house results. With third-party testing, the results are unbiased and unwavering. In other words, the results cannot be altered. They are what they are.
Where are the ingredients sourced from?
Our ingredients are sourced from all over the world. Many herbs and other plant-sources are not indigenous to the United States, so Pacific Formulations sources materials from trusted and qualified supply partners with relationships that span years. This assures quality and the best price for our customers.
What is “contract manufacturing?”
In the case of the dietary supplement industry, contract manufacturing means that brands hire manufacturers to make their products. This is very common in many industries. In fact, there are very few brands on the market that manufacture 100% of the products they offer to their customers.
This sets Pacific Formulations apart from other brands on the market. We manufacture our products and offer them directly to you. The ingredients and packaging components arrive in one of our buildings and ship direct to you from another one of our buildings.
What does “cGMP” mean?
Even though the dietary supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA, there are requirements for dietary supplement manufacturers to follow called cGMPs, or current Good Manufacturing Practices. Specifically, these requirements are outlined in FDA code 21CFR, part 111.
How important is it that manufacturers have cGMP certification?
It is extremely important that manufacturers have cGMP certification. The certifiers are third-party regulatory experts. There are two organizations that are qualified to certify for cGMPs: UL Solutions and NSF (National Science Foundation).
